The Astoria Dragon

During the two years I served at USCG Air Station Astoria I also attended Clatsop Community College. It is here that I surrounded myself within the local arts community.

I met with a group of local artists each Tuesday on the top floor of an old cannery on the Columbia River. We would spend two hours together drawing from live models while discussing our art processes.

In addition to this I began taking Ceramics classes at the college after I got off work. Prior to this time, I had only a little experience with ceramics.

Watch the eight minute video that premiered on Oregon Public Broadcasting, it's very informative.

The Idea is to not get hung up along the way when you're working, but to let the process be as fluid as you can make it. So long as you have no expectations of the process, things will always turn out.
