Assignment #6, Popup Pictures

For this project I used pictures of people from the drama department. I feel that the hardest part of this assignment was choosing what kind of setting to put the images in. I used Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, PremierPro, and Audacity for this project.

I plan to continue working with this file. I want to add 2-d stage props to the scene. I also have to go into the pictures and fix some of the hair coloring. I want to get rid of the ambient light in the scene, and replace it with deck-lights. I also wanted to get the names of the people. My plan is to make it a sort of snl-intro.

Assignment #5, Custom True Type Font

This is my custom .ttf. I decided to just do all the fonts you see to get them out of the way, since i was in a groove. In Brian's video he advises against pulling each letter from the font-sheet. I wrote them all out on one sheet, then enlarged all of them at once, expanded the edges, and united each letter. That seemed to provide me with the least complicated work flow.

Assignment #4

Upload assignment #1. In this first assignment, i was to anmiate Photoshop brushes in Flash. I concieved the main idea for the piece before I actually took the picture. First, I found free brushes of birds. Then, in photoshop, I seperated the wings from three bird brushes, and saved each piece into their own layer. I imported all of my layers into Flash, but i had five animations to piece back together. I studied slow-motion water drips to create the stretch, bounce, and atomization of the dropplet. I made two copys of the drips, then revieled the bird-brushes as though they morph from the drip. The last animation was of another bird flying accross the screen. When I first added them, they looked great. As I cleaned up some of the timing issues, however, they became jittered. After I finished the birds, I NEEDED a picture. So I snapped one of the nearest pole. My original concept had the top of the pole level in the shot, but I was unable to find a spot to take the picture. Having a setting for the bird drips, and most of my original concept ruined, i needed a reason for the drips. I had to rework the ending credit animation too. I forgot to mention that i also put the soundtrack togeather myself in Audacity. I used Premier to lay the flash animatin and audio track togeather. I timed out the vibration noise on a frame-to-seconds dope-sheet. The vibration itself is just two copies of the transformer with the opacity levels taken down.

Assignment #2 and 3, the first blog post and a tablet drawing.

I made this drawing using a wacom tablet. I used photoshop to do the drawing, I gave the background a texture like paper and stained it with a ps brush. The drawing is just a doodle.

My name's raemenn jewall. I once painted a single line which ran 108 miles,
and when I grow up, I'll paint a longer one.
